Youth Leadership Camp
AFAIC’s provided 50 young people with the opportunity to cultivate leadership and communication skills as well as network and immerse themselves in an event that provided them will new skills and experiences.
The camp provided training to this group on:
- The nature of leadership and how they can develop this skill
- How to develop an advocacy plan on a contemporary issue
- The media and how they use information with insights into interviews
- Delivery of Public Speaking
As well as team building activities in Water Safety, Learning 2 Swim and archery. On review of the program by participants it was identified that 71% of responses were positive across all aspects of the camp. 22.5% of responses provided positive feedback about the activities, however 6.5% of responses recorded a general dissatisfaction with the activities and workshops. The organisers have noted the less favourable feedback and will make appropriate adjustments to future content and mix of items on any future events.
