Harmony & Nowrouz Celebrations

Multicultural harmony day is a true celebration of arts, culture, tradition and diversity with all culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities. Highlighting to all the benefits of being part of an inclusive community where everyone belongs.

The aim of this program is to bring about multicultural awareness while celebrating culture and diversity. This program builds community engagement builds social networks and promotes peace. Afghan Fajar Association Incorporated Charity has been participating in this day since 2012.

The 2015 Harmony Day and Nowrouz Festival showcased the Afghan culture, food and celebrated their beautiful diversity along with Macquarie Fields Police and many other community organisation. The event went well and a review is documented on Facebook with how the day went. ‘AFAIC along with Macquarie Fields Police and many other community organisation, showcased their culture and celebrated our beautiful diversity’ (AFAIC 2015).

Following on from the day a certificate of appreciation was presented to the association by the Police Service NSW and the community thanking AFAIC for their participation, ‘It was a great day to connect with many of the other organisations in the area who do amazing work’ (AFAIC 2015)
