Swim 2 Survive
AFAIC’s Learn 2 Swim Survive program two week program has been running since 2012 with the aim to provide new arrivals and immigrants with the ability on to swim and gain awareness around the water. Therefore enabling the participants to enjoy swimming in beaches and seas in Australia in a safe way. It has further been identified that this program socialises the participants to a critical aspect of Australian culture.
In the years since this has been run the program it has been found to be very effective in strengthening the swimming skills of participants. ‘It was a great success and surely AFAIC will continue its effort to engage youth in active and fun activities through similar programs in future.’ At the end of the course certificate of improvement were distributed to all the participants from their instructors based on their level of improvement.
