Our Journey
In early 2008 the Afghan Fajar Association Incorporated (AFAIC) was established by members of the Afghan Community living in Sydney. The Association was initially formed with the dual purposes of meeting local needs and maintaining overseas cultural and community connections. AFAIC members and partners developed a broad range of responses to achieve these purposes. Community and Social Welfare Services were developed as well as a Dari Language Community School. These services continue today and were a platform from which programs such as WeReform, Swim2 Survive and the Multicultural Youth Leadership Camp were successfully delivered.
Reflecting on these successes AFAIC believes it is ready more fully participate with the local community to “create a vibrant, connected multicultural Australia”. AFAIC will be seeking to grow its services and programs to engage with the community to provide opportunities for people to reach their full potential.
Our Vision
A vibrant, connected multicultural Australia where everyone reaches their full potential.
Our Mission
To establish a vibrant and connected Australia by providing education, assistance, social and cultural services to people of multicultural and disadvantaged backgrounds that enable the growth of an inclusive and harmonious nation.
